Specific Examples

We were invited in to lead a once a month Praise & Prayer service on a Wednesday night.

It was a small group, rarely over 10 attendees and primarily from the hosting church's congregation.

We began to introduce new music, but it didn't stop there. We began to minister to the congregants, and they responded, boy did they respond.

Each month was a theme, forgiveness, healing, vision, breaking addictions, hope, amazing grace, a heart of worship, God's love for us, and much more.

Very quickly the attendance grew, but not only from the hosting church, but from the surrounding neighborhoods. There were people traveling over 30 minutes just to attend. But why?

"People don't care what you know until they know you care."

They knew we cared.

We offered a "Salvation call" to those wanting to give their lives over to Jesus.

We offered forgiveness ceremonies where people could come up to a sand box and in private, write the hurt into the sand and then with a paddle, wipe it away, for good!

We offered the chance to let go of baggage by writing that one thing they were giving to God, that they knew they couldn't handle without Him. They then put it through a paper shredder, leaving it behind once and for all, trusting in Him to take care of that need. One step at a time; one step at a time...

Within five months we had over 80 attendees! The news had spread, people's lives were changing, they were drawing closer to God and all that He had for them.

They were worshiping as we sang together (we sang with then, not AT them). They were free and safe to express their feelings and emotions, to receive prayer for concerns and grow and heal.

We are not just a band that entertains, although we are fully capable of that. We are an ensemble that comes with the tools of ministry and healing. We break down the fourth wall, the one that stands between the platform and the pews, and interact with those in attendance so that there is never any doubt that "we care."
